Tularosa Dress

The sun is shining in California…finally, I was beginning to miss the sun….just a tiny bit!! I just love all the cold weather and rainy days but I was happy to wear a dress and my suede boots once again! I found this amazing little dress from Revolve clothing, the embroidery detail on this dress is just the cutest thing ever. It also has pockets which make this dress a million times better! This dress would be perfect for those summer nights as well. I threw on my favorite OTK boots because they looked great with the dress and are incredibly comfortable. I seriously scored with these boots, comfortable and so freaking cute!! I also grabbed my favorite leather jacket I’ve had for years, it makes every outfit an instant ‘cool girl’ outfit! That’s all for my outfit, thanks for stopping by!

Love, Elle.

Dressing up joggers.

I have a work edition style post today where I’m incorporating these amazing knit joggers! They are my very first pair of joggers and I was so excited when I got them I was throwing them on as soon as I got home from work every single day, as well as wearing them all day during the weekend(watching football!). After being inspired by many other celebs, bloggers and friends in my life I totally paired them with some heels and a silk blouse for work! If you want to wear joggers to work you have to wear them with heels, there’s really no exception there. Pairing a silk blouse and adding a touch of elegance with the pearl necklace made my outfit definitely more work appropriate. I also had a blazer (not pictured here) making me even more professional and warm!

January Style

Hello my lovely readers, I’m so excited to share my very first style post of 2017 with you all! I am especially excited because of this beautiful mural I have as my backdrop. I saw this mural and was blown away by all of the vibrancy making it absolutely chaotic, and left me with so much inspiration to create. I feel as if I’m easily inspired by the most simplest, ordinary things but I just can’t help it. My heart just jumps when I see beautiful things being created by other people it can be as big as mural on a wall or building to a simple painting on a little mug, I will always leave with a twinkle in my eye and picture in my mind. Silly, I know. I just can’t help it. Just to think of how much time and dedication it must’ve taken to create, naturally I had to stop and shoot my look here!

Now, for my look! It was a cold but sunny day where I wore my black turtleneck (Halogen-Nordstrom) top, it’s a very thin, stretchy and soft fabric.  Keeping with the black theme I tucked in my top to these high waisted jeans (Garage)  and topped it off with my felt hat (asos). I wore this navy little duster vest (similar) I can wear all year round and thought it matched perfectly with my little bag (Zara/found it on ebay) and boots (exact ones)!! Perfectly styled for this mural behind me!!

Hugs and Kisses xoxo, Elle.

Angel Hair Shrimp Pasta

Hello everyone I have a super easy pasta recipe that happens to be my favorite kind of pasta!  It’s an angel hair shrimp pasta. You’ll need:

1. Angel hair pasta 🍝 (4 oz)

2. Shrimp 🍤 (1lbs)

3. Lemon 🍋 ( 1 tbs)

4. Chili flakes 🌶 (1 tbs)

5. Pepper & Salt (1 tbs each)

6. Butter (4 oz)

7. Garlic (3 cloves, minced)

8. White win 🍷 (1/2 cup)

First step: Boil a deep pan of water and add your pasta to soften.

Second step: Peel shrimp skin.

Third step: Add all the seasonings. Lemon, salt, pepper, chili flakes, garlic, butter and white wine into the peeled shrimp bowl.
Fourth step: Mix it all up!

Fifth step: Put it in a glass bowl and put it in the oven to bake for 15 minutes. Set oven at 400 degrees.

Sixth step: After 15 minutes, add the pasta into the bowl with the shrimp/ shrimp sauce.

Seventh step: Mix it all up, serve, add some parmesan cheese, parsley as well and enjoy! 0138737_01_shrimp-scampi-with-pasta_s4x3-jpg-rend-sni12col-landscape

How to be a morning person.

Being a morning person can be tough but I have been jotting down tips during 2016 that have helped me become a morning person, according to my lifestyle of course. I narrowed it down to these five tips but would love to hear any you might have, leave me a comment below if you have any tips on what helps you get up in the morning.

ONE: I actually make my bed every single morning and if I don’t make my bed it’s because I’m running late but I always make it one of my priorities when waking up so it’s rare if I don’t. It makes me feel like I already have my life put together so it’s a good start plus I have a million pillows laying all over the place so I’m clutter free when the bed is made. It only takes a few minutes and changes my mood completely.

TWO: Running has become a part of my morning routine. I wake up early and take Monaco out for a run (he’s a small pup but has me sprinting at times, to keep up with him!). After my run which lasts for maybe 30 minutes or less I come home to do some squats, lunges, planks or even weight exercises. I used to go to the gym a lot more before I realized Monaco needs to get some energy out too. I’ll save the gym for those Saturdays I want to go cycling or use the sauna. It’s a good way to kick start your metabolism and stay active. I actually look forward to waking up and going running!
THREE: Eating a healthy breakfast is another thing I’ve noticed leads me to having a better day. Not only a better day but also better choices for lunch and dinner. I’ll usually cook some eggs with half a bagel/toast or make a smoothie. I’ll always eat some fruit in the morning as well and have a glass of water. After my workout it always energizes me in the morning and since I don’t drink coffee it gives me that extra energy that coffee gives other people.

FOUR:  Thinking positively has always helped me in my life so starting your morning with positive thoughts and vibes will make it a better morning and day!! Whenever I catch myself thinking negatively about a certain situation I always try to replace it with the opposite of what it is or deny whatever negative thought is being created. The human mind is such a powerful organ and if you struggle with thinking positively it takes time to finally master positive thinking without trying to think positively. I’ve always thought of my mind as a muscle, you have to train your mind to think a certain way and eventually it will happen simultaneously.

FIVE: Now my fifth thing is the most important because it starts deep within the mind, body and soul. It’s my Spirit that needs the real nourishment, if we need to breathe, exercise and eat everyday to be alive our Spirit also needs to eat, exercise and breathe spiritual food. Reading the Bible feeds my Spirit and breathing God in every every day keeps my Spirit exercised and alive. Breathing God in can be as simple as praying, singing or just talking to God throughout your day. Starting of your day with this activity is the best because it sets your heart, mind, body, soul and spirit in the right direction. I usually do it right after I’ve made my bed and just sit on my bed as I read or pray or even better pray read!!  It’s so easy and will change your life the most out of all of these activities.

I hope this gives you a few little tips or ideas to incorporate into your everyday life, I know they have made a difference in my life and I hope they do in yours as well. Talk to you soon.

Love, Elle. ❤️️
